AF Samoilov was an outstanding physiologist, who devoted all his strength and outstanding talent to the development of science. He is deservedly considered the founder of Russian electrophysiology, experimental and clinical electrocardiography. The emergence of the theory of chemical transmission of excitation is associated with his name.

The name of A.F.Samoilov is closely connected with domestic electrophysiology, which owes him the formation and maturity.
