Study of renal dysfunction in compensated chronic glomerulonephritis
Abstract
Currently, it is assumed that the disorder of renal functions in compensated chronic glomerulonephritis consists in a decrease in glomerular filtration and an increase in renal blood flow. Selective disorders of tubular functions are not given importance.

The use of high doses of furosemide in chronic renal failure
Abstract
Furosemide (lasix) is one of the most effective modern diuretics. Clinical experience has shown that in chronic renal failure that occurs with a significant decrease in the mass of active nephrons, a daily dose of 40 to 160 mg is ineffective or only marginally effective.

Diagnostic value of radioisotope reno- and hepatography in patients with chronic nephritis
Abstract
In 76 patients with chronic glomerulonephritis (70 with mixed and 6 with hypertensive), the data of clinical, radioisotope, biochemical and intravital morphological studies of the liver and kidneys were compared. The selected patients, neither in the past nor during the study, did not suffer from liver or biliary tract diseases. 32 of them were between 18 and 29 years old, 26 - 30 to 44 years old, and 18 - between 45 and 59 years old.

On the treatment of diffuse glomerulonephritis in children
Abstract
We observed 223 children with various forms of diffuse glomerulonephritis (82% with hematuric, 14.4% with nephrotic and 3.6% with mixed forms). There were 9.7% of children under the age of 3 years, from 3 to 7 years old - 30% and older - 60.3%.

The effectiveness of hormone therapy for nephritis in children
Abstract
In the dynamics of hormone therapy for glomerulonephritis, we investigated, along with general clinical indicators, the criteria for the functional state of the kidneys, as well as capillary permeability for protein and fluid. We studied daily diuresis, residual nitrogen and serum creatinine, and endogenous creatinine clearance in the circadian rhythm. Tubular reabsorption of water was calculated, a test was carried out according to S.S.Zimnitsky. The filtration-reabsorption capacity of the kidneys was also determined in 24 healthy children (control). To study the permeability of capillaries, the method of capillary-venous difference was used (V.P. Kaznacheev, 1956).

Pyelonephritis in children
Abstract
From 1971 to 1973, 165 children with pyelonephritis were under our supervision (14 under the age of 1 year, 38 - from 1 to 3 years, 58 - from 3 to 7 years, 37 - from 7 to 10 years and 18 - from 10 up to 14 years old). 90% of patients were girls, which makes us think about the ascending nature of the infection. The onset of the disease was atypical.

Hereditary (family) hematuric nephritis
Abstract
Currently, congenital and hereditary nephropathies are attracting more and more attention of specialists. A rather high prevalence of renal diseases of hereditary genesis was revealed: according to the data of Yu.V. Veltischev and V.P. Lebedev, hereditary nephropathies account for 16% of all renal diseases diagnosed in children.

Diagnostic value of rheorenography in pediatrics
Abstract
We set the task to develop standards for renal rheogram in healthy children and assess the suitability of the method for judging hemodynamic changes in the kidneys with glomerulonephritis. We have not come across information on this issue in the pediatric literature.

Forced detoxification in acute inflammatory process in the abdominal cavity
Abstract
Despite the introduction into clinical practice of a number of new methods in the treatment of peritonitis (peritoneal dialysis, new antibiotics, hypothermia, etc.), the mortality rate in this disease, which is widespread in urgent surgery, remains high - 35% or more.

Epidemiological research in oncology
Abstract
The main direction of the development of epidemiological research in oncology should be considered the clarification of the characteristics of the spread of malignant neoplasms in various territories of the country, in various ethnic, professional and other groups of the population; isolation and study of high-risk groups, in particular patients with precancerous diseases; determination of the role of chemical, physical and biological factors in the occurrence of human tumors; study of possible pathogenetic links between malignant neoplasms and other diseases, mainly chronic (gastritis, bronchitis, tuberculosis, diabetes, etc.); study of the causes of changes (decrease or increase) in the levels of morbidity, mortality from certain forms of malignant tumors; assessment of the effectiveness of preventive measures, etc.

Study of the possible carcinogenicity of drugs based on oil, oil products and tar
Abstract
Medicines, which include oil, oil products and tar, are widely used throughout the world in the treatment of a number of skin diseases. Some of them, such as medical vaseline oil, are used not only for cutaneous application, but also for internal use. In the history of medicine, a number of cases are described when the use of drugs containing tar, oil and petroleum products was (the cause of cancer in humans.

Application of quasi-line fluorescence spectra of benzo (a) pyrene derivatives in oncological research
Abstract
The object of this study was methyl and dimethyl derivatives of benzo (a) pyrene (BP), one of the most active and widespread carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the human environment. BP derivatives are of interest for oncological research, since the addition of a methyl group, as a rule, increases the carcinogenicity of PAHs.

Primary free plastic dermoepidermal graft in oncological practice
Abstract
There is no unanimity on the indications and permissibility of using primary skin grafting in the treatment of malignant neoplasms. In the domestic literature, only a few works are devoted to this problem. There are still no studies based on a sufficient number of observations, studied in the light of long-term outcomes. This is one of the reasons for the reserved attitude towards the use of this method in the treatment of malignant tumors.

Application of the compound of the isotope samarium with nedta in the diagnosis of tumors of the skeletal system
Abstract
In recent years, a number of works have been published on the diagnosis of tumors of the skeletal system using the Sr85 isotope. Noting the high diagnostic efficiency of Sr85, most authors believe that the long half-life of the isotope (65 days) determines its relatively high radiotoxicity.

Ways of conservative treatment of advanced forms of cancer
Abstract
The vast majority of patients with advanced forms of cancer experience severe mental and physical suffering. Medical professionals often do not pay due attention to these patients, do not use all available options for their treatment, and in most cases only provide analgesic therapy. Such a tactic, undoubtedly, does not contribute to the onset of bright periods during the course of the disease.

Study of hydrodynamics of the eye in choroid melanomas
Abstract
We have studied the hydrodynamic parameters in 32 patients with intraocular melanoma. All cases were verified by histological control or by fluorescence angiography. In 29 patients, the tumor was localized in the choroid behind the equator (it was close to the nodular in shape) and in 3 - in the ciliary body. In addition to the data of ophthalmoscopy, we studied the state of the anterior chamber angle, indicators of daily tonometry, elastotonometry, and topography.

Treatment of malignant tumors of the lymphatic system
Abstract
The recognition of the existence of local stages of malignant lymphomas and the metastatic pathway of their spread made it reasonable to use the so-called "radical program of radiation therapy", which consists in sequential irradiation of both areas with identified foci of lymphoma and significant areas of the body with the aim of a preventive effect on the subclinical phases of the tumor (submandibular, cervical, supraclavicular and subclavian, axillary, mediastinal lymph nodes, as well as the retroperitoneal space, the pelvic region, etc.).

Hemorrhagic thrombocythemia
Abstract
Hemorrhagic thrombocythemia (synonyms: primary, idiopathic, essential thrombocythemia, hyperthrombocytic myelosis, megakaryocytic leukemia) rarely occurs as an independent disease, more often develops as a syndrome, firstly, with myeloproliferative processes (chronic myeloid leukemia, polycythemia, and secondly with myelofibrosing processes (myelofibrosis, fibrous osteodystrophy, disseminated bone carcinomatosis). Reactive thrombocytosis is observed in cancer, collagenosis, burns, and large blood loss [1].

About capnographic study of the function of external respiration
Abstract
In assessing the function (external respiration, it is of great importance to determine the removal of carbon dioxide from the body, which allows, firstly, to judge hypercapnia and, secondly, to draw a conclusion about the ratio of ventilation and blood flow.

Indications for the use of the tranquilizer mebikar
Abstract
Mebikar, one of the derivatives of bicyclic ureas (2,4,6,8-tetramegyl-2, 4, 6, 8-tetraazobicyclo [3, 3, 0] -octanedione-3, 7), was synthesized by L. V. Epishina and OV Lebedev at the Institute of Organic Chemistry. ND Zelinsky Academy of Sciences of the USSR. The study of the biological activity of this series of compounds showed that mebikar has a deprimating effect on the central nervous system of animals. The drug has a protective effect against group toxicity of phenamine and at a dose of 1/15 DMT (200 mg / kg) significantly inhibits research reactions in white mice.

Predictive value of intraoperative audiometry in chronic suppurative otitis media
Abstract
The aim of the work was to determine the lateralization of clear tones and ultrasound of the threshold and suprathreshold intensity before the operation, during it, in the postoperative period up to 6 months, as well as the functional prognosis of various stages of hearing-improving operations. Under the supervision there were 20 patients with chronic purulent otitis media, who underwent tympanoplasty of I, III, IV types according to Wuldtein.

Changes in skeletal muscle excitability during pregnancy
Abstract
With the onset of pregnancy, a functional reorganization takes place in a woman's body: a restructuring in relation to new conditions of life. This report presents the results of studying the electro-excitability of skeletal muscles in pregnant women (biceps brachii and superficial flexor of the fingers) by plotting force-duration curves [1, 2].

Steroid anesthesia in obstetrics
Abstract
The steroid anesthetic was synthesized in 1955 [43] and named hydroxydione. In its chemical structure, it is close to progesterone and deoxycorticosterone, but lacks hormonal properties. In the USA, hydroxydione was released under the name Viadril, in the USSR - “Predion”.

Treatment of nephroptosis and its complications
Abstract
Nephroptosis is one of the most complex urological diseases. The degree of prolapse and pathological mobility of the kidney often does not correspond to the clinical manifestations and anatomical changes in it. This served as the basis for us to develop a classification of nephroptosis, taking into account its clinical course and complications and functional state of the kidneys.

Sodium clearance in acute glomerulonephritis
Abstract
The sodium clearance (purification coefficient) was investigated in 47 patients with acute glomerulonephritis. Glomerular filtration of water was determined by endogenous creatinine, minute diuresis - in 1–2-hour samples and from the daily amount. Serum and urine electrolytes were studied using a flame photometer.

Sodium clearance in acute glomerulonephritis

Abstract
The search for new means of external therapy for patients with various allergic, dermatoses, including professional dermatoses, is a very urgent task. We studied the efficacy of phlogosam ointment (People's Republic of Hungary), containing a 3% complex of sulfosalicylic acid samarium (a rare earth element), in 62 patients (38 men and 24 women aged 3 to 52 years): 28 with occupational eczema, 7 with professional allergic dermatitis, 8 with chronic true eczema and 19 with childhood eczema. Treatment was carried out both in inpatient and outpatient settings.

About changes in the cardiovascular system of workers in the production of organic glass
Abstract
Organic glass is obtained by polymerization from methacrylic acid methyl ester (methyl methacrylate, MMA), which in high concentrations has a pronounced general toxic, narcotic and irritating effect. As a result of prolonged contact with MMA (10 or more years), chronic pro-intoxication may develop, in the clinical picture of which the pathology of the nervous system takes the leading place. Information on the state of the cardiovascular system under the influence of MMA in the literature is scarce, contradictory, and concerns only the level of blood pressure.

Treatment of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, alcohol abuse
Abstract
We analyzed 109 case histories of patients with destructive forms of pulmonary tuberculosis for 1970-1971. 47 of them (1st group), according to observations of medical personnel and data from medical records, during the main course of treatment abused alcohol. 9 people were registered in a neuropsychiatric dispensary for alcoholism, many of them had an increased tolerance to alcohol, withdrawal symptoms, and alcohol-type personality degradation. Some patients led an asocial lifestyle: they lost their family, often changed their place of work, etc. In this group, 15 people. there was focal pulmonary tuberculosis, in 29 - infiltrative and in 3 - disseminated.
