On the role of the adrenal glands in the biochemistry of the body

Shcherbakov S.A., Zimnitsky V.S., Vishnevsky A.A., Dmitriev V.R.

Abstract

Sensitivity in general and one of its types - pain - play an important role in biology and, in particular, in the clinic. It is not without reason that clinicians devote solid monographs and works to pain, as a symptom, and surgery persistently seeks to remove this far from important obstacle to its progress. and complex reflex arcs, the same cannot be said about another mechanism, a more subtle one, the mechanism of chemical restructuring of the body under the influence of sensitive irritation and the mental affect closely associated with it. Here we have not yet quite accurate and clear data.

To the pathogenesis of anemia in children

Krever E.P.

Abstract

Diseases that cause anemia are very diverse, and therefore it is very difficult to classify anemias according to their etiology, and due to various constitutional and other characteristics of the organism, the same cause can cause different phenomena. It is easier to approach the question of the cause of anemia by determining whether erythropoiesis suffers from this disease or whether there is an increased breakdown of red blood cells. In the body, the state of the blood is composed of two processes: on the one hand, erythropoiesis, on the other hand, the decay of erythrocytes. Demonstrative formula Yerringer'a E — R — D (Blutmauserung), where E is the number of erythrocytes, P is their production and D ~ destruction. As long as P balances M, the difference E. remains unchanged. If D, that is, hemolysis, increases more than P, then we get a hemolytic type of anemia. If D — hemolysis remains unchanged, but P decreases — we get an aplastic type of anemia.

To the pathology of the cecum and its process. (Coecum amplius and coecum angustius)

Rubashev S.M.

Abstract

The question of the phylogeny of the appendix and its involution 'has a certain, albeit limited, significance in its pathology. In my monograph: “Appendicitis in its effect on diseases of other abdominal organs,” I, on the basis of a number of data, expressed my request for a view that considers the appendix as a rudimentary organ. Having studied the issue in detail from the comparative anatomical side, I found here a number of facts that support my opinion.

Ways of promoting anesthetic solution in the abdominal cavity when anesthetizing it by the creeping infiltrate method

Vishnevsky A.A., Novikov G.M.

Abstract

Until now, one of the main disadvantages of local infiltration anesthesia (m. And. A) has been the lack of definite, precisely formulated methods of performing it in certain surgical operations. Used in major surgery m. And. and. carried more elements of intuition, experience and technique than an accurate, complete technique. This was the case with Reclus, Schleich'a, Fins ter eger'a and many others. others when they worked in this field. Yes, it could not be otherwise, since the very principles on which M. and. a., did not allow to achieve anything great.

To the question of dental dystrophies in tuberculosis patients

Mirtovskaya E.V., Gelfenshtein L.G.

Abstract

Over the past decades, a number of valuable works on the morphology and biology of the tbc bacillus have appeared in the literature, especially the French, which have introduced a new concept into the concept of the mechanism of transmission of tbc from parents to children. Side by side: pathological autopsies, experimental and clinical studies have already proven the possibility of congenital tbc as one form of infection. But these observations are not over, concrete conclusions on this issue have not yet been finally made, and therefore any changes in the body during the period of its embryonic development, which remain unchanged for life, are valuable. The dental apparatus deserves such attention, bearing the imprint of all the defects of the embryonic period. Having a large movement of tuberculosis patients in a sanatorium with 250 beds, it seemed to us extremely interesting to trace, using the materials of the dental office, what forms of dental dystrophies and the frequency of them are found in tuberculosis patients and in other chronic infections. We know how great the diagnostic value of some dental dystrophies in congenital syphilis is, and we do not know at all those in congenital tbc, despite the similarity of the effects of these infections on the life of the body. The material to be analyzed is quantitatively insufficient, and the dental office continues further observations.

Features of childbirth in "old" primiparous

Dyakonov V.V., Chernoyarovaya V.D.

Abstract

Dr. medits. V.V.Dyakonov and Dr. V.D. Chvrnoyarovry. The question of whether childbirth in the so-called "old primiparous44" presents any peculiarities depending on age, or whether age does not play a significant role in this. has not yet been finally decided. Therefore, we gladly accepted the offer of Prof. A.I. Timofeeva to revise the material of the Kazan obstetric clinics and see on it whether and how childbirth differs in women of a later age. Coming to the fulfillment of our task, we first of all had to solve the question at what age the woman's body should be considered. "Old" for the first birth.

The experience of experimental study of the influence of physical fatigue on the reproductive system of animals

Dykhno M.A., Sidorov N.E.

Abstract

In connection with the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the female body in the study of various occupational hazards, naturally, as a large and important chapter, the chapter on occupational pathology of the female genital area stood out, which by now has already a significant amount of research. A review of the relevant literature shows, however, that it is not always easy to take into account the influence of a particular profession in its pure form, and some serious observers even think that it is still premature to talk about female occupational pathology without separating it from the everyday harms and harms of abortion (Kurdinovsky). Indeed, it must be admitted that in the study of occupational health it is necessary to take into account a number of attendant moments, such as the constitution, living conditions, the impact of repeated induced abortions. The most expedient method of research by experiment — indeed, ‘difficult to apply to the area under study — is hardly beginning to be put into practice. Assuming that the study in the experiment of individual moments, of which the harmful effect of professional labor is composed, can in a purer form reveal the significance of these moments in their influence on the sexual sphere, we set up in the laboratory of our clinic a number of experiments on female white mice, taking as the studied moment the physical fatigue of the animal.

Clinical observations of the use of diathermy in gynecological diseases

Podzorov N.A.

Abstract

The last two decades in the development of conservative gynecological therapy are characterized by the wide development and application of various methods of physiotherapy, in particular diathermy. The latter method of treatment, for many reasons of a physical and biological nature, and also thanks to numerous good reviews from a number of authors, immediately took a dominant position in conservative therapy in all branches of medicine, especially in gynecology. Naturally, the principle of deep tissue heating was very tempting and promising for gynecologists in terms of solving the problem of successful treatment of advanced chronic diseases of the pelvic organs. Hence the enthusiasm for this method and setting too broad indications for the treatment of diathermy.

On the issue of shortcomings in terms of "liberation" and the morbidity of the insured in the Moscow-Oka water region

Kudenko I.

Abstract

In recent years, more and more often the attention of the Soviet public and government bodies has been drawn to the question of combating truancy and dismissal due to temporary incapacity for work. With the ongoing disputes between the insurance authorities and the People's Commissariat for Health, there is no consensus on the control over the release of the insured. Meanwhile, the number of paid sick leave days is growing every year and. although the number of insured people is also increasing, the growth in sick leave payments is sharply increasing. If in 1925/26 196.8 mil. Were paid throughout the USSR. rubles, then? in 1926/27 - 215.2 mil. rubles, in 1927/28 - 295 mil. rub. and in 1928/29 - 320 mil. rub. It is still unknown what 1929/30 will show, but Tsusstrakh had already had to transfer funds from the “G” medical fund to pay for temporary disability in order to keep social insurance, one of the most valuable gains of the October Revolution.

About medical personnel

Lepsky E.M.

Abstract

Medical personnel have long been one of the weaknesses of our medical organization; their insufficient number, their uneven distribution throughout the country, and the inadequacy of their preparation to the requirements of life, were repeatedly discussed at congresses and in the press. But at the present time, when the cultural growth of the population and the socialist restructuring of the economy and everyday life have further increased the need for medical care and made a demand for a medical worker of a new formation, our old need has become especially acute. The December decree of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks on medical care for workers and peasants, the decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR dated January 28, 1930, the orders of the NKZ issued in development of these decisions, and finally, the decisions adopted in March this year. At the All-Russian Congress of Health Departments and at a methodological meeting under the Glavprofobra, the reorganization of health care was greatly advanced and at the same time not only put the issue of medical personnel on the order of the day, but also largely determined the ways of its solution.

Reform of medical education and institutes for advanced training of doctors

Luria R.A.

Abstract

The tremendous shifts in production relations in the country, both in the field of its industrialization and in the socialist sector of agriculture, have called for ambitious plans for the socialist reconstruction of health care. By the end of the five-year plan, you need to have approximately 60 thousand medical personnel, about 140 thousand nursing staff. And not only doctors and medical staff, not only who received medical education in general, but practical specialists in the field of medicine and health care. This led to a grandiose restructuring of the entire medical education, to the transfer of medical universities and medical schools to the health authorities with a close connection of the new curriculum with the production itself. In other places (see "On the front of health care", No. 4, 1930, "Soviet doctor", 1930 and "Medical business", 1930) I dwelt in detail on how this reform of medical education would affect the state improvement of doctors, and tried to show that the new installation of medical universities and the new huge tasks facing the health authorities in connection with the unprecedented growth of cultural needs of the masses not only does not diminish, but significantly increases the importance of institutions with the task of raising the qualifications of a Soviet doctor

Another case of rhinoscleroma in the Tatar Republic

Lebedevsky B.N.

Abstract

The birthplace of scleroma is Galicia. Here and in the neighboring countries, scleroma occurs constantly. The main mass of patients in the USSR belongs to the western and southwestern regions, in addition, a Moscow focus is clearly visible. According to statistics published by Kordatova in 1927, a total of 278 cases of scleroma were registered in the USSR. The sick are Russians, Jews and Poles, most of them workers and peasants living in poor hygienic conditions, and a few intellectuals, but also poorly provided for. In the USSR, there is no compulsory registration of patients with scleroma, this extremely serious disease, against which any therapy is almost powerless. There is also no correct registration of patients. Only a few clinics publish fully documented cases. Meanwhile, scleroma has a certain tendency to spread and deserves more attention from both doctors and health authorities.

On the question of the state of the autonomic nervous system in mental illness

Shevelev N.

Abstract

The study of the autonomic nervous system has been going on for 250 years, naturally undergoing a series of successive changes. Of the authors who have most advanced this teaching, we must mention Winslow, who was the first to introduce the name "sympathicus" and establish its relation to the tissues of the whole organism. Then it should be noted the ganglionic nerves and the ganglionic nervous system studied by Johnston, whose nodes turned, in his opinion, voluntary movements into involuntary ones. Then, at the beginning of the 19th century, Bichat, drawing an analogy between animals, plants and humans, divides the life of an organism into animal and plant, denoting the first "vie de relation" and the second "vie de nutrition".

Disadvantages of tablets made according to standard prescription formulas

Sherman S.I.

Abstract

Currently, there is a strong tendency to replace all other dosage forms with tablets: medicines, drops, powders, etc. Thus, Tatnarkom-zdorovy published a book with a list of standard prescription formulas, where over 40 prescription formulas are made in the form of tablets. Narkomzdrav TR yov. Magdeev, in his preface to the published book with standard formulas, writes: “The most acceptable and expedient form of rationalizing drug care is the transition to mechanized finished dosage forms. The transition to this system will provide tremendous cost savings, improve the quality of medical care, and, mainly, accelerate dispensing, reducing several times the time required to manufacture drugs. Dr. N.V. Busygin. Transplant of eyes taken from a corpse (experimental study). The speaker, having acquainted with the literature on the issue of eye transplantation, noted the absence of indications for eye transplantation taken from the corpse. The main factor in the death of transplanted eyes in animals is, as the speaker's experiments showed, trauma, so the question of transplantation can only be resolved by homoplastic operations performed on humans (the heteroplasty of the eyes used so far, for obvious reasons, has not yielded results).
