To the study of the biomechanics of breathing in chronic pneumonia
Abstract
The experience of studying the biomechanics of respiration in patients with chronic nonspecific lung diseases using a device for general bodily plethysmography showed that this method allows one to determine the state of bronchial patency depending on the air content of the lungs, to monitor the dynamics of the process and the effectiveness of treatment.
Diagnostic value of Alpha2 Ferroprotein in blood serum of patients with tuberculosis and lung cancer
Features of the function of external respiration in patients with cystic hypoplasia of the lungs
Abstract
The results of a study of the function of external respiration in 49 patients with cystic hypoplasia of the lungs indicate that with this suffering due to a decrease in the functioning tissue of the lungs, as well as inadequate development of the elements of the wall of the bronchial tree, pulmonary ventilation is significantly impaired. the power of inhalation and exhalation decreases.
Experience of combined pharmacotherapy with immunosuppressants and anabolic steroids of chronic pneumonia and bronchial asthma
Abstract
The results of treatment of 242 patients with chronic pneumonia and bronchial asthma refractory to traditional drug therapy are analyzed. 139 people received immunosuppressants-cytostatics (cyclophosphamide, cyclophosphamide, 6-mercaptopurine, azathioprine) and 103 - immunosuppressants in combination with anabolic steroids (retabolil, methandrostenolone).
Treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis by jet intravenous administration of anti-tuberculosis drugs
Abstract
The authors describe a method of intravenous jet injection of a mixture of 10% tubazide solution (up to 20 mg / kg) and a calcium chloride complex of streptomycin (1 million units) to patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The analysis of the results of the application of this method revealed its high efficiency.

In 179 adolescents with hypercortisolism syndrome caused by GINK drugs, the effectiveness of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment was traced. The syndrome of hypercortisolism does not exclude the use of tuberculin, collapse therapy and surgical methods of treatment. As a result of long-term complex therapy of respiratory tuberculosis in adolescents with hypercortisolism syndrome, a clinical cure was achieved in 95.5%.
Cytochemical study of immune processes in newborns with acute respiratory infections
Abstract
At various stages of the immune process in 101 newborns with acute respiratory infections, the glycogen content in lymphocytes and neutrophils, neutrophil phospholipids and the activity of acid and alkaline phosphatases in them, the activity of succinate dehydrogenase of lymphocytes and the average content of lysosomes in them, as well as the activity index of monocytes were studied. The peculiarities of the dynamics of cytochemical parameters were revealed depending on the premorbid background, the phase of the disease, the presence of bacterial concomitant diseases and superinfection with acute respiratory infections. The calculation of the average content of lysosomes in lymphocytes and the activity index of monocytes can be recommended for use in clinical laboratories of the departments of neonatal pathology.
The content of some trace elements in the blood of patients with chronic pancreatitis
Abstract
In 83 patients with chronic pancreatitis, the content of copper, manganese, nickel, molybdenum, chromium and vanadium in whole blood was studied. Found a statistically significant increase in the concentration of manganese, molybdenum and vanadium, a decrease in chromium. Correlations were found between the content of trace elements and the form of the disease, the stage of the process and the activity of pancreatic enzymes in the blood and urine. The diagnostic role of the index of the ratio of antagonistic microelements was revealed.
Diagnostic doubts in clinical hematology
Abstract
Difficulties and errors in modern diagnostics of diseases of the blood system are often caused by polymorphism of the clinical and hematological picture, which does not correspond to the previous descriptions of the classical forms of the most important blood diseases, sometimes an incorrect interpretation of blood changes, as well as a passion for the purely cytomorphological aspect of diagnosis without a broad assessment of the clinical and hematological picture as a whole.
Diagnostic criteria for glanzmann thrombasthenia
Abstract
Based on long-term observations and study of the state of hemostasis in 17 patients with Glanzmann's thrombasthenia, the diagnostic criteria of this disease during periods of exacerbation and clinical remission were determined. During the period of exacerbation, such signs are violations of platelet adhesion to glass fiber, their aggregation under the influence of ADP, adrenaline and collagen, changes in the excretory reactions of the patient's platelets under the action of ADP on them, as well as a sharp violation of the process of retraction of a blood clot. In the absence of clinical manifestations of the disease, impaired adhesion of platelets to fiberglass, aggregation of platelets under the influence of ADP and adrenaline, as well as a significant decrease in values in retraction of a blood clot retain their diagnostic value.
The importance of tissue and vascular factors in the mechanism of hemostasis in childbirth
Abstract
The role of tissue and vascular factors in the mechanism of hemostasis during labor was studied in 68 women with various types of obstetric pathology. A significant decrease in the coagulation activity of tissue and vascular factors was found in women in labor before the onset of subsequent and early postpartum hemorrhages and in women in labor with antenatal fetal death compared with healthy women. The processes of thrombus formation in the uterus during labor are activated by tissue and vascular factors of hemostasis to such an extent that they proceed extremely quickly and during the subsequent period provide a final, reliable hemostasis.
The content of estrogenic hormones in tissues and urine with uterine fibroids
Abstract
The amount of estrogenic hormones in the urine and tissues of the endometrium, myometrium and myomatous nodes in 10 patients with uterine myoma before surgery during the menstrual cycle, as well as in urine and in the tissues of the uterus after its surgical removal was investigated. It was found that there is no difference in the content of estrogens in the myometrium and myomatous nodes. This means that myomatous nodes do not show an increased ability to accumulate hormones in comparison with neighboring unchanged muscle tissue. The obtained weak correlation dependence of estrogen hormones excreted in the urine and contained in the tissues of the uterus does not give the right to draw conclusions about changes in the hormonal balance in the tissues of the uterus only by determining the amount of estrogen in the urine. All the more difficult it is only on the basis of studying the excretion of estrogenic hormones in the urine to judge their significance in the occurrence of uterine fibroids.
Abdominal cesarean section in women in labor with uterine fibroids
Abstract
The study included 31 women in labor with uterine fibroids. Most women had a conservative management of labor, 9 had an abdominal cesarean section. The indications for it were necrosis of myomatous nodes, mechanical obstacles to childbirth when the nodes are located in the lower segment or cervix and violations of the labor process due to abnormalities of labor forces, improper position of the fetus, etc. (mainly in elderly primiparous).
Functional activity of human pituitary corticotropocytes with different patterns of death
Abstract
The method of immunofluorescence was used to study the corticotropocytes of the pituitary glands of people who died from various causes. Changes were revealed in the number of corticotropocytes, their size, the degree of vacuolization of the cytoplasm, tinctorial properties, depending on the causes of death.
Clinical significance of the cytochemical determination of alkaline phosphatase of leukocytes in myocardial infarction
Abstract
We investigated changes in the activity of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in leukocytes in 44 patients with acute myocardial infarction (men - 31, women - 13; age - from 45 to 81 years). Cytochemical determination of alkaline phosphatase activity in peripheral blood smears was performed using the azo coupling method. When evaluating the enzymatic activity, the percentage of phosphatase-positive cells and the index of phosphatase activity of neutrophils (PFAN) were calculated.
Two cases of repeated cardiac arrest with a successful outcome
Abstract
I., 14 years old, was admitted to the children's surgical department on 24 / XI 1975 with bilateral staphylococcal pneumonia and left-sided purulent otitis media. The patient's condition on admission was grave. A blood test revealed a sharp decrease in the content of hemoglobin and erythrocytes, moderate leukocytosis with a shift to the left.
On the issue of hemocoagulation in patients with diabetes mellitus
Abstract
The aim of our research was to establish the nature and degree of hemocoagulation disorders in diabetes mellitus, to identify the dynamics of these disorders depending on the clinical course of the disease and some of its complications, as well as to clarify the effect of various antidiabetic agents on them (insulin, sulfonamides, biguanides).
Liver condition with hyperbaric oxygenation
Abstract
The high sensitivity of the liver to the damaging effects of oxygen under increased pressure is generally recognized. But only a few works are devoted to the study of the effect of multiple sessions of hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) on the tissue of this organ.
Therapeutic Uses of Normal Immunoglobulin for Pulmonary Diseases
Abstract
In the complex treatment of 30 patients with severe pulmonary diseases (males — 14, females — 16; age — from 15 to 70 years), we used normal immunoglobulin for intravenous administration, developed at the Kirov Research Institute of Blood Transfusion. In 20 patients the process was bilateral, in 10 it was unilateral. The sclerotic form of chronic pneumonia according to the classification of KG Nikulin (stage I) was established in 7 patients, bronchiectasis (stage II) in 11 and abscessing (stage III) in 12. The patients stayed in the hospital from 21 to 89 days. Immunoglobulin was injected intravenously (the rate of administration was no more than 20 drops per minute), 50–75 ml 2 times a week in a total dose of 100–150 ml. The drug was prescribed only for extensive lung lesions, bronchiectasis, abscess formation; in 2 patients it was used in preparing them for lung operations during critical periods of the course of the disease. Under the influence of complex treatment with the use of immunoglobulin for intravenous administration, patients showed positive shifts in the indicators of total protein, protein fractions and albumin-globulin index (see table).
On the issue of late pregnancy termination by intra-amnional administration of hypertonic sodium chloride solution
Abstract
We used transcervical intraamnional administration of 20% hypertonic sodium chloride solution in 135 pregnant women aged 15 to 45 years for the purpose of terminating pregnancy for medical reasons at a period of 15 to 28 weeks. There were 77 (57%) first-pregnant women, 58 (43%) multi-pregnant women.
New factor allergization of the body
Abstract
Along with many indisputable positive qualities, polymer building materials can exhibit some properties hazardous to human health. In order to clarify the question of the possible sensitizing effect of polymeric materials used in housebuilding, we studied the air environment in three preschool institutions and the state of health of about 400 children at the age of 2 to 7 attending these institutions; in addition, employees of built-in furniture stores and some workshops of the Rostov automatic intercity telephone exchange were examined.
To the methodology of dispensary services for persons with nonspecific respiratory diseases
Abstract
A method of dispensary services for patients with nonspecific respiratory diseases has been proposed. To identify them, a simple questionnaire has been drawn up, which the population can fill out when visiting a clinic or undergoing fluorography. In connection with the need for differentiated monitoring of patients with nonspecific pathology of the respiratory system, a project of a dispensary grouping them with the allocation of 4 groups of accounting was developed.
"Rural doctor" V. A. Alekseev, A. M. Aminev. Chuvash book publishing house. Cheboksary, 1977, circulation 8000 copies
Abstract
The book is dedicated to the rural surgeon Konstantin Vasilyevich Volkov (1871-1938). In the twenties and thirties, the name of K.V. Volkov was extremely popular among surgeons. His speeches in the press and at congresses were always sharp and polemical. He spoke all European languages, subscribed to many magazines and, although he lived and worked not in the capital or in the university center, but in one of the villages of Chuvashia, he responded vividly to all more or less significant events in the surgical world. Among his many publications, the article "Surgery without danger" (Nov. hir. Architect, 1931, vol. 24, p. 390) deserves special attention, in which he sharply criticized the well-known work of SP Fedorov "Surgery at the Crossroads" , condemned the author's decadent mood.
"Diagnostic errors in pulmonology" A. I. Vorokhov, L. G. Dukov M., "Medicine", 1977, 176 pp., Circulation 15,000 copies
Abstract
The difficulties in diagnosing respiratory diseases are well known. As IK Esipova points out, they are due to the fact that the lungs, as a certain physiological and anatomical system, react with stereotypical reactions to various etiological factors, and this stereotypicity often erases the boundaries of nosological forms.

Letter to the editor. Regarding the article by L. I. Moskvicheva "experience in the prevention of pneumonia"
Abstract
The question of the advisability of using antibacterial agents for respiratory viral diseases remains controversial. Most researchers consider it useless and even harmful (E. M. Tareev, K. V. Bunin, E. Katiladze and many others). D. Debsai et al. write that with prophylactic antibiotics, the number of bacterial complications does not decrease. According to AF Bilibin, antibiotics, suppressing the normal microflora of the body, promote the activation of viruses. Only a few authors (L.S. Schwartz et al.) Believe that for the prevention of pneumonia it is necessary to treat patients with acute respiratory diseases from the first days as patients with pneumonia.
