Polyantsev A.A.

Abstract

In the spring of 1939, XXX years of scientific, medical and social activity of one of the prominent professors of the Kazan State Medical Institute and the Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians were celebrated. V. I. Lenina—N. In Sokolova

Nikolai Vladimirovich Sokolov was born in 1882. In 1908, he graduated with “distinction” from the medical faculty of Kazan University. After working for 6 months as a zemstvo doctor (in the Birsk district of the former Ufa province), N.V. became a resident, first at the propaedeutic and then at the faculty surgical clinic, headed by Prof. N.A. Gerken. During his residency, N.K. published his first scientific work, “On the anatomy of the parathyroid glands,” and passed his doctoral exams.

Experience in treating burns with rivanol

Gorbatov V.P.

Abstract

The issue of treatment of burns receives great attention in the medical press, at congresses, and conferences. A number of new ways to treat burns are being proposed.

The relevance of this issue is quite understandable. Burn injury occurs frequently in peacetime; in wartime it occupies a significant place.

What requirements must local treatment of burns satisfy? Local treatment should promote healing of the burned surface, the best restoration of the wound defect with the least pronounced scar; it should be as painless as possible. Therapy should restore the patient's ability to work.

To the clinic and surgical treatment of hydatid disease

Gulevich P.A.

Abstract

Echinococcal disease receives a lot of attention in Russian literature; The bibliographic list of literature on echinococcus covers over 300 works, and 7 of them are of a dissertation nature (Aleksinsky, Melnikov-Razvedenkov, Elenevsky, Mirolyubov, Misalipov, Keropiyan, Danilyak). This is due to the significant spread of hydatid disease in many areas. Despite major advances in identifying foci of echinococcus, especially over the past 10-15 years, information about the spread of this disease is far from complete.

98 Wreden operations for Hallux valgus

Samoilov G.S.

Abstract

The term Hallux valgus (H. v.) refers to abduction contracture of the first toe.

A relatively small area of the human body occupied by deformation has long attracted the attention of surgeons due to its significant prevalence, unclear etiology and unsatisfactory treatment results. Shklovsky in his dissertation points to 219 works by Russian and foreign authors on this issue. Friedland considers the disease “a typical vestimental disfigurement.”

On the hemostatic effect of blood transfusion in hemophilia

Berenshtein V.S.

Abstract

Blood transfusion is widely used for various types of bleeding, as well as hemorrhagic diathesis and hemophilia, as one of the forms of this diathesis. Most authors are unanimous in their view that one of the main causes of hemophilia is congenital decreased blood clotting, which depends on a lack of thrombin and thrombokinase. Sali believes that in hemophiliacs, the vascular endothelium and blood cells suffer from functional insufficiency in the sense of producing substances necessary for blood clotting. Others believe that the cause of hemophilia is the thinness and fragility of the vascular wall, making it brittle and unable to contract. Oppel suggests that hemophiliacs suffer from congenital hypofunction of the liver in terms of the production of proserosine, the participation of which is necessary for blood clotting.

On the issue of amputation of limbs without a tourniquet under local infiltration anesthesia according to Vishnevsky

Voronchikhin S.I.

Abstract

During the last imperialist war at the front, the mortality rate from amputations performed under general anesthesia reached 30%, while with local anesthesia for the last 1600 patients, Kreill did not have a single death (Vishnevsky).

According to the observations of Prof. Flerov, during the World War, high amputation of the hip gave about 50% mortality, and for some other authors it was even higher. It must be assumed that general anesthesia played a significant role in such high mortality rates. Therefore, the desire of many surgeons to use the safest methods of anesthesia, among which the advantage of local infiltration anesthesia over other types is beyond doubt, is understandable.

The purpose of this report is to present our experience in relation to infiltration anesthesia according to Vishnevsky for amputations of limbs.

Towards early diagnosis of acute blockage of mesenteric vessels

Nadein A.P.

Abstract

After Tietzemann's first report in 1843 about arterial embolism. mesent. super. Loop collected 500 cases of intestinal infarction resulting from mesenteric embolism. These statistics are the largest published before 1921. Further work and reports on this disease were compiled and described by Meyer, who also reported 92 cases of obstruction of the mesenteric vessels. Recently, several cases have also been described by domestic authors (Geisler, Pikin, Kuskov, Fedorovich, Britnev, Okun, Solovov).

The interest of clinicians in this disease increased significantly, especially after Oppolzer correctly diagnosed intestinal infarction.

Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers with erythemal doses of ultraviolet rays

Zverev E.M.

Abstract

Clinical experience shows that existing methods of treating stomach and duodenal ulcers, designed for local effects and referring only to the diseased organ, do not always solve the problem of treating this suffering.

The ideas of modern clinics, their ideas about the integrity of the body and the role of the nervous component in the pathogenesis of diseases, which have switched our concepts and ideas from organ pathology to broader concepts of anthropopathology, outline new paths in therapy and in particular in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.

Treatment of rickets with milk powder fortified with vitamin D

Damperova A.

Abstract

The availability of factory-made vitamin D preparations used to treat rickets makes it possible to prescribe a much larger amount of vitamins to a sick child than before. It has become possible to obtain better treatment results in a shorter time. But with the rapid improvement of the rachitic process, the child’s body needs relatively large amounts of calcium. Meanwhile, human milk, the main food for children of the age at which prevention and treatment of rickets is most often required, contains relatively little calcium.

About the active method of releasing the placenta according to the method of Dr. Rogovin

Sokolova N.S.

Abstract

Most obstetricians are of the belief that the expectant method of releasing the placenta is the safest for the mother. The method is so ingrained in the practice of all obstetric medical institutions that in my 20 years of medical practice, visiting many maternity wards of clinics and hospitals, I have never seen any other method of releasing the placenta during normal childbirth.

Treatment of gynecological patients with Albichtol injections

Borisova N.M.

Abstract

The reports in the literature by Solonovich and Shvartsman (Moscow) about the beneficial effect of albikhtol in inflammatory diseases of the female genital area prompted us to make the observations below.

Albihtol, highlighted by prof. A. M. Berkenheim from bituminous shales, is related to ichthyol, the active principle of which, as was established by Frankel, Scheibler, Berkenheim, is the sulfur thiophene group, contained in 10% of ichthyol. Albihtol contains thiophene almost in pure form without impurities of ammonium salts and sulfonic acids.

A simple method for determining the group identity of a blood stain

Blinov N.I.

Abstract

There are a number of ways to determine the group identity of blood stains. Some of them detect agglutinin spots, while others detect agglutinogens. Since agglutinins are less stable and can easily be destroyed in a blood stain, methods based on their identification do not always make it possible to determine group affiliation; The most accurate and most common method is to determine the presence of agglutinogens in a blood spot by adsorption of agglutinins from standard serum.

Morphological changes in the nerve elements of the intestine during experimental mechanical obstruction in dogs

Muromtsev A.S.

Abstract

Quite a large literature is devoted to the issue of intestinal obstruction. Many aspects of this serious disease, which gives from 25 to 70% mortality, have been clarified (Sholkov, Spasokukotsky, Shapiro, Melnikov, Perelmon, Vik, Vidgof). A number of clinical and experimental studies have established that with intestinal obstruction, a sharp disturbance of metabolism (water-salt, gas) occurs, vascular disorders, intoxication, and shock occur. A number of theories have been proposed to explain the pathogenesis and cause of death in intestinal obstruction.

On the issue of reinfusion for ruptures and injuries of the liver

Osadchiy D.P.

Abstract

Blood transfusion, as a method of treatment for various diseases, is becoming available to an increasing number of surgeons. The method has become available for use in many peripheral medical institutions of our Union. Blood transfusions are especially often used in cases of acute blood loss. The question of reinfusion is of great interest because with reinfusion the question of donation is removed, which has not yet been definitely resolved everywhere.
