Abstract

The author points to the fact that the cause of thympathy of the stomach, which develops simultaneously with the intake of food, with all of the resulting disorders must be considered in many cases a lack of coordination between swallowing and breathing - the fact that the aerophagus before and during each swallow makes a deep, often audible breath.

Проф. J. Н. Schultz указывает на то обстоятельство, что причиною развивающейся, одновременно с приемом пищи тимпании желудка со всеми обусловливаемыми ею растройствами надо считать во многих случаях отсутствие координации между глотанием и дыханием,—то, что аэрофаг перед и при каждом глотании делает глубокий, часто слышный вдох. Отсюда вытекает и способ лечения: путем упражнения, малыми глотками еды и питья надо приучить больного глотать только во время выдыхания, или предшествующей (rsp. последующей) ему дыхательной паузы.
