Dependence of the growth of vaginal microbes on the degree of acidity of the environment. Demme (Berich. über d. ges. Gyn., Bd. X)

Abstract

Demme studied the dependence of the growth of vaginal microbes on the degree of acidity of the medium and came to the conclusion that, depending on the properties of the nutrient medium and in particular its Ph, one can obtain from the same strain of streptococcus a number of transitional forms, different in growth form, in their hemolytic ability, pathogenicity for animals and humans, as well as in their relation to the conditions of aerobiosis and anabiosis.

Зависимость роста влагалищных микробов от степени кислотности среды изучал Demme и пришел к заключению, что, в зависимости от свойств питательной среды и в частности ее Ph, можно от одного и того же штамма стрептококка получить ряд. переходных форм, различных по форме роста, по их гэмолитической способности, патогенности для животных и человека, а равно и по их отношению к условиям аэро—и анаэробиоза. Наибольшую концентрацию кислоты, оказалось, переносит bacillus acidophilus из группы b. vaginalis (Ph—около 4,0). Опыты с симбиозом b. vaginalis и других микробов на бульоне с 1—2% виноградного сахара и 1—2% белка при Ph=7,0 показали, что b. vaginalis переростает все остальные виды и через несколько дней оказывается в чистой культуре.
