Abstract
The author conducted under the skin of animals the threads of catgut impregnated with copper salts with live pathogenic bacteria. The disinfecting effect of copper impregnation was so great that experimental animals with "copper" catgut did not fall ill, while the control animals fell ill or even died.

Gräfin von Linden (Bruns Beitr. 1932. Bd. 155) проводил под кожу животных нити кетгута, импрегнированного солями меди, с живыми патогенными бактериями. Дезинфицирующее действие импрегнации меди столь велико, что опытные животные с „медным“ кетгутом не заболевали, тогда как контрольные заболевали или даже погибали. Автор считает возможным импрегнированный солями меди кетгут рекомендовать для швов.
