Prophylactic and therapeutic value of placental extract in measles, scarlatina and mumps

Abstract

The author used for prophylactic purposes the injection of placental extract in 80 children (from 1 to 8 years old) who had been in contact with measles patients. This inoculation was done on the 4th-5th day of incubation in 5-10 cm³, depending on age. As a result, it turned out that only two of this group became ill with measles (2.5%) of almost abortive form, and, in the author's opinion, the sick children were vaccinated late.
