Bone marrow lavage as a method of treatment of purulent inflammations of the bone marrow. M. Saidman (Zentr. f. Chir., 1928, No. 14)

Abstract

M. Saidman on the basis of experimental studies and one clinical case recommends to use in acute and subacute osteomyelitis of tubular bones washing of medullary cavity with weak solutions of rivanol. For this purpose it is necessary to make several (2-5) holes in the tubular bone under local anesthesia and flush the medullary canal under weak pressure, so that infectious agents do not penetrate into the blood through the haversian canals.

М. Saidman на основании экспериментальных исследований и одного клинического случая рекомендует применять при острых и подострых остеомиэлитах трубчатых костей промывания костномозговой полости слабыми растворами риванола. Для этого надо сделать под местной анэстезией несколько (2—5) отверстий в трубчатой кости и промывать костномозговой канал под слабым давлением, дабы инфекционные начала не проникли в кровь через гаверсовы каналы.
