Abstract

The corpus luteum of the ovary contains two antagonist hormones: one inhibits ovulation and menstruation, the other, on the contrary, accelerates these processes within certain limits. The first of them in non-pregnant females does not cause hypertrophy of the sexual apparatus, the second causes significant hypertrophy.

По исследованиям Papanicolaou желтое тело яичника содержит два гормона-антагониста: один тормозит овуляцию и менструацию, другой, наоборот, в известных границах ускоряет эти процессы. Первый из них у небеременных самок не вызывает гипертрофии полового аппарата, второй вызывает значительную гипертрофию. Во время беременности они действуют оба, притом в противоположном друг другу направлении.
