In persistent cases of posterior spastic parametritis, when all the usual conservative methods of treatment fail, Louros recommends the method of resection of uterosacral ligaments suggested by Warnekros. The uterus is strongly pulled forward so that the crumpled uterosacral ligament is strained; ligatures are applied to both ends of the segment to be removed, and the ligament section between the latter is cut out with scissors to a depth of about % centimeters; the resulting peritoneal incisions are stitched, and the uterus is fixed by Bumm. Out of 14 cases operated on by Louros in this way, in 12 cases there was a stable recovery.
