Report of 341 slice nephrotomy for renal tuberculosis

Abstract

The prognosis was more favorable in women than in men, probably because the latter had more frequent genital complications (71%). The persistent cure rate was 50% in women and only 38% in men. In 6% of the cases there was death after an average of 15 years from a shriveled kidney. 38% died subsequently of tuberculosis of the other kidney.

Suter. Сообщение о 341 сл. нефротомии при туберкулезе почки. (Schweiz, med. Wochenschr., № 28, 1934). Прогноз был благоприятнее у женщин, чем у мужчин, вероятно потому, что у последних чаще встречается осложнение со стороны половых органов (71%). Стойкое излечение составляло у женщин 50%, у мужчин — только 38%. В 6% случ. в среднем через 15 лет наступила смерть от сморщенной почки. 38% умерло впоследствии от туберкулеза другой почки.
