Lupus erythematosus and cancer. Riel (Dermat. Zeit., 1927, No. 51)

Abstract

The author describes 6 cases where on the surface affected by this form of lupus a squamous cell carcinoma developed. In three cases, irritation of the skin with X-rays seems to have played a role in the occurrence of cancer; in the other cases, other irritating therapeutic measures and a chronic inflammatory process played a role.

Riel описывает 6 случаев, где на пораженной этою формою волчанки поверхности развивался затем плоскоклеточковый рак. В трех случаях в возникновении рака играло, повидимому, роль раздражение кожи рентгеновскими лучами, в остальных—другие раздражающие терапевтические мероприятия и хронический воспалительный процесс.
