Cardiac activity in the postpartum period. W. Haupt (Zeit. für Kreislaufforschung, 1928, No. 11)

Abstract

Having studied 11 women before and during the postpartum period, the author concluded that the heart of a woman during the postpartum period performs increased work against the norm, that even during the postpartum period there remains a danger of cardiac complications in cardiac patients, and that medical observation of the latter during the first 4-6 weeks after delivery is as important as observation of them before delivery.

W. Haupt, исследовав 11 женщин до родов и в послеродовом периоде, пришел к заключению, что сердце женщины и в послеродовом периоде выполняет повышенную против нормы работу,—что и в послеродовом периоде продолжает оставаться опасность сердечных осложнений у сердечно-больных родильниц, и что врачебное наблюдение за последними втечение первых 4—6 неделе после родов имеет такое же значение, как и наблюдение за ними до родов.
