The asymmetry of the structure of paravertebral muscles in newborns and children, caused by congenital dysplasia of muscle tissue, was found. This asymmetry can be considered as an etiological factor in the onset of scoliosis.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Изучена морфология паравертебральных мышц, биопсированных у 5 больных сколиозами, а также мышц, аутопсированных у 35 трупов новорожденных и детей, погибших от случайных причин и не имевших признаков сколиоза. Обнаружена асимметрия структуры паравертебральных мышц у новорожденных и детей, обусловленная врожденной дисплазией мышечной ткани.
