The annual increase of new cases of VD among the inhabitants of industrialized countries reaches 2.6% among women and 1.9% among men. Its course is accompanied by a number of complications and a high level of disability of patients, which, in turn, is associated with significant economic costs. These circumstances make the development of an effective system for diagnosing VD an important medical and social problem.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Варикозная болезнь нижних конечностей (ВБ) является самой распространенной патологией периферических сосудов: ею страдают 26—38% женщин и 10—20% мужчин трудоспособного возраста. Ежегодный прирост новых случаев ВБ у жителей индустриально развитых стран достигает 2,6% среди женщин и 1,9% среди мужчин. Ее течение сопровождается рядом осложнений и высоким уровнем инвалидизации больных, что связано, в свою очередь, со значительными экономическими затратами.
