In 1911 he entered the Faculty of Medicine at Warsaw University, but after completing two courses, due to lack of funds, he was forced to take a break from his studies, and in 1914 he transferred to Saratov University, where he worked in the infirmary simultaneously with his studies. He graduated from the university in 1916. From 1917 he was a supernumerary 'resident, and in 1920 he was elected to the position of a full-time assistant at the clinic of ear, nose and throat diseases at Saratov University.
В 1911 г. он поступил на медицинский факультет Варшавского университета, но, по окончании двух курсов, за отсутствием средств, принужден был сделать перерыв в учебных занятиях, а в 1914 г. перевелся в Саратовский университет, где одновременно с учебой работал в лазарете. Окончил университет в 1916 г. С 1917 г. состоял сверхштатным ординатором, а в 1920 г. был избран на должность штатного ассистента клиники ушных, носовых и горловых болезней Саратовского университета.
