Modern research indicates a close connection between hypertension and oral diseases, particularly periodontitis.</p> <p>Hypertension and its complications are among the main medical conditions that prompt dentists to refer patients to other specialists, sometimes requiring postponement or cancellation of dental procedures. Insufficient awareness among dentists about the timely and optimal management of patients with elevated blood pressure, along with a lack of attention to preventive measures, can lead to delays in treatment and, in some cases, to irreversible complications. This underscores the critical importance of dentists having the necessary knowledge about hypertension, as well as skills in providing emergency care to such patients.</p> <p>In this regard, special attention should be paid to dentists’ awareness of risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including elevated blood pressure. This article analyzes current data on dentists’ awareness of the interrelationship between oral diseases and hypertension. It presents the results of scientific research emphasizing the need to foster cardiovascular awareness in dental practice.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Заболевания полости рта и сердечно-сосудистые заболевания являются взаимосвязанными хроническими состояниями, широко распространёнными и имеющими серьёзные последствия для экономики и здоровья, которые значительно снижают качество жизни пациентов. Современные исследования указывают на тесную связь между артериальной гипертензией и заболеваниями полости рта, особенно с пародонтитом.</p> <p>Артериальная гипертензия и её осложнения являются одними из основных медицинских состояний, побуждающих стоматологов направлять пациентов к другим специалистам, а иногда требующих отсрочки или отмены стоматологических процедур. Недостаточная осведомлённость стоматологов о своевременном и оптимальном ведении пациентов с повышенным артериальным давлением, наряду с недостаточным вниманием к профилактическим мерам, может приводить к задержкам в лечении и, в некоторых случаях, к необратимым осложнениям. Это подчёркивает исключительную важность наличия у стоматологов необходимых знаний об артериальной гипертензии, а также навыков оказания неотложной помощи таким пациентам.</p> <p>В связи с этим особое внимание должно уделяться осведомлённости врачей-стоматологов о факторах риска сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний, включая повышенное артериальное давление. Cтатья посвящена анализу современных данных об осведомлённости стоматологов о взаимосвязи заболеваний полости рта и артериальной гипертензии.
