Depending on the method of surgical treatment, patients are divided into four groups (by nosology and complications and reoperations): patients with tubotympanic otitis media and epitympanic antral otitis, without complications and with local or intracranial complications, after reconstructive sanitizing ear surgery. The state of the processes of oxidative modification of proteins was evaluated in the bone tissue of the middle ear cavities, obtained intraoperatively, by the content of carbonyl products with the use of spectrophotometry. The data were processed by descriptive statistics and were presented in the form of a median and a range between quartiles with an estimate of the reliability of the intergroup differences by the Mann-Whitney U-criterion.</p> <p><bold>Results.</bold> A comparison of the indicators characterizing the oxidative modification of bone tissue proteins of the temporal bone in patients with complicated and recurrent forms of chronic otitis media demonstrates a greater degree of free radical destruction of proteins, primarily markers of early stages of protein damage and an increase of aldehyde products, both at the basal level and in response to induction in a complicated course of the disease.</p> <p><bold>Conclusion.</bold> The obtained data allow drawing a conclusion about a high level of oxidative stress in bone tissue in destructive forms of chronic otitis media accompanied by relapses and complications, and about the perspectives of antioxidant pre-operative use taking into account the features of oxidative stress in bone tissue in patients with chronic otitis media.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Цель.</bold> Изучение роли окислительной модификации белков костной ткани в формировании деструкции структур височной кости при хронических средних отитах.</p> <p><bold>Методы.</bold> В исследование включены 139 пациентов в возрасте 16-75 лет с верифицированным диагнозом хронического среднего отита, подлежащих оперативному лечению. В зависимости от способа хирургического лечения пациенты разделены на четыре группы (по нозологии и с учётом осложнений и повторных операций): пациенты с туботимпанальным средним отитом и эпитимпано-антральным средним отитом, без осложнений и с локальными или внутричерепными осложнениями, после реконструктивно-санирующей отохирургии. Состояние процессов окислительной модификации белков в костной ткани полостей среднего уха, полученной интраоперационно, оценивали спектрофотометрическим методом по содержанию карбонильных продуктов. Данные обработаны методами дескриптивной статистики и представлены в виде медианы и диапазона между квартилями с оценкой достоверности межгрупповых различий по U-критерию Манна-Уитни.</p> <p><bold>Результаты.</bold> Сопоставление показателей, характеризующих окислительную модификацию белков костной ткани височной кости у пациентов с осложнёнными и рецидивирующими формами хронического среднего отита, демонстрирует большую выраженность свободнорадикальной деструкции белков, преимущественно маркёров ранних этапов повреждения белков и повышение содержания продуктов альдегидной природы, как на базальном уровне, так и в ответ на индукцию при осложнённом течении заболевания.</p> <p><bold>Вывод.</bold> Полученные данные позволяют сделать заключение о высоком уровне окислительного стресса в костной ткани при деструктивных формах хронического среднего отита, сопровождающегося рецидивами и осложнениями, и о перспективности применения антиоксидантов в предоперационном периоде с учётом особенностей окислительного стресса в костной ткани у пациентов с хроническим средним отитом.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>chronic otitis media</kwd><kwd>bone tissue of middle ear cavities</kwd><kwd>oxidative modification of proteins</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>хронический средний отит</kwd><kwd>костная ткань полостей среднего уха</kwd><kwd>окислительная модификация белков</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Daykhes N.A., Yanov Yu.K.
